Tries: Martin 2 Goals: Hardaker

Wakefield Trinity battled to a hard-fought Super League win over injury-hit Hull FC.

The groups entered level at the break with Lewis Martin's double for the away side matched by ratings by Will Tate and Oliver Pratt.

Tate's 2nd put the hosts in front for the very first time after team-mate Jack Sinfield had seen a shot eliminated for blockage.

The Black and Whites did not threaten the Trinity try-line afterwards and have now lost their last 3 Super League video games this season, having won the opener versus Bradford Bulls.

Wakefield made it two wins and 2 defeats for the project.

Tate shines as Hull's battles continue

Hull FC had full-back Will Pryce ruled out for the season last week, Liam Knight went back to Australia at the weekend after being allowed to leave on compassionate grounds and it has been reported that back-rower Jed Cartwright might now be out for 5 months with a hamstring injury.

In an even start Martin got the visitors on the scoreboard with a try out the left edge before Tate crossed for his very first.

Ill-discipline from Trinity skipper Mike McMeeken provided Hull FC great field position and Martin dotted down in similar fashion for his second shot.

It appeared like that would suffice for the away side to lead at the break however Davy Litten stopped working to handle a high kick on the last play of the half and Pratt nabbed the loose ball up to send the groups in level.

Sinfield had a very first score for his new side dismissed for a blockage but Tate soon crossed for what proved to be the after fast hands from Corey Hall put him over in the corner.

There was still over 20 minutes to play but Hull hardly even crossed the midway line not to mention put pressure on the home try-line.

Wakefield face Leeds Rhinos in the Challenge Cup next Friday, while Hull FC also face a Super League challenger when they take a trip to Leigh a week on Saturday.
