Conference Race Update: James Madison Will Bet The Sun Belt

Amid all the mayhem and uncertainty in the conference title races, something is particular: James Madison will play in the Sun Belt national championship.


The Dukes clinched a department title Saturday with a win over Appalachian State, plus Coastal Carolina's loss to Georgia Southern.


Elsewhere, Texas A&M and Georgia Tech pulled off essential comebacks, and Virginia and San Diego State won key video games in their championship game races.

Today: Virginia knocked off Duke to hand heaven Devils their second league loss, and Georgia Tech barely escaped versus Boston College.


Standings: Georgia Tech (6-1), Virginia (6-1), SMU (5-1) and Pittsburgh (5-1) remain in a four-way tie for very first in the loss column.


Possible tiebreakers: There aren't any head-to-head matches yet among those four groups. The next tiebreakers after that involve records versus common challengers, and then winning percentage of conference challengers.
